Kristie's Ongoing Testimony

      Kristie had lost her daughter in a custody battle and was at the end of her rope.  She went on a tour of the US, by hitchhiking.  At one point she decided to end it all.  She took an overdose of pills and drank a bottle of liquor.  But was amazed to wake up with only a headache the next day.  She knew right then that God had a plan for her life.
      She made her way back home to only find herself frustrated with her situation and life.  It took months before God got us back together again.  I found her a day before a Gospel Truth Seminar that was going to take place near her home.  I was going to the seminar and invited her. She accepted.  Kristie was born again.  But she did not know what the next step was in her walk with God.
      Kristie came to the seminar and soaked up God's Word.  In the morning seminar I went to with her, they did an altar call for baptismal of the Holy Spirit.  She decided to do that!  She got baptized with the Holy Spirit and it became the catalyst of change in her life!
      Within a month of the seminar she started going to a local church, for bible study, and to give back to the community.  She volunteered and ran the church's clothing center.  Next, God made a way for her to get out of her toxic relationship of sin that she had been living in.  That sexual relationship out of marriage had been keeping her from really letting go and leaning on God...and healing her broken heart!  She was in desperate need of healing!  The landlord found out she was living there in the apartment and she had to leave.  God parted the red sea and she found peace to leave.
      Kristie stayed a little while with a friend and then had to find a shelter to live in.  There are not many places that help women in Atlanta, unless you have kids, are an addict, or are abused.  She stayed in a really scary one for a while, and someone asked her to  come to a church near by that had some food.  God was about to bless her again!  The man brought her to a church whose pastors took her in, gave her a place to stay until the Salvation Army could take her, and even sponsor her (10 dollars a day) for her to stay there at the SA.
      Now Kristie volunteers at their church and is changing other people from the street's lives on a daily basis.   She serves bagels every morning, offering them up with a smile, a kind word, conversation, and concern for those she serves!  She is blessing those around her with all she has, God's love and a smile. She may not have much, but she gives all that she has.
     Kristie is still growing in God and He is really changing her heart on a daily basis.  She has been able to love people who have yelled at her in line, and still show them mercy and grace.  Which is nothing she would have done before being set free by the Holy Spirit.  Kristie's life is an ongoing testimony...of my sister, I will keep you updated on.  Keep Kristie in your prayers and she continually seeks God and looks to God to transform her life and those around her!  I pray she will be able to see her daughter, too.

I was diagnosed with kidney stones a few months ago. One of the stones was almost a half inch long and the doctor told me it would not pass.  She said we could wait and see if it moved or if it started to cause pain before we dealt with it, so I didn’t think about it for quite a while. About a month ago, I started to feel pain again.  If you’ve ever had kidney stones, you know what I mean about PAIN!  I had this pain in my right side for about 3 weeks and it was getting pretty severe. 

I was about to make an appointment to have the large kidney stone blasted and broken into small enough pieces to be able to pass them, or if that didn’t work… surgery.  On a Thursday at the church office, one of the ladies prayed over me for the stone to dissolve.  I felt a little better, but there was still pain.  At dress rehearsal for Easter, two women prayed over me again because the pain was getting worse again.

Easter morning in the service Pastor Tracy said to stand if you needed a healing.  I stood up.  She said there was someone with a kidney issue that they had been praying for.  I knew it was me! She saw me raise my hand and said to me that I was completely healed in Jesus’ name. By the time I went outside to the event we had that day, I realized that the pain was completely gone.  Thank you Jesus!  I have experienced many healings since coming to Life Christian. I know now that it is because God does not want me to be sick, but in excellent health (John 10:10).  I was not taught that in previous churches.  I thank God for this church and for being taught the truth that is in the Word!

“God is awesome!
Its not very often im lost for words (as friends and pupils well know) but last wednesday i was just that and it has totally illustrated Gods awesome love for me. I’ve been suffering for 20 years with numerous degenerative health conditions including Hypothyroidism, Addison’s disease, depression and ME. Over the past year my health has deteriorated quite rapidly resulting in me being dependant on numerous medications, regular visits and stays at different hospitals, carrying an emergency injection, needing daily care and support from my family for both me and my two children and having 7 months off sick from my teaching job. In the past couple of months I’ve started to use a wheelchair on my bad days due to being totally exhausted. 
Then God decided it was time for a change :0) After hours and hours of prayer and totally opening myself up to God he has started my miracle healing process. Alison shared Gods message with me a few months ago that God was starting my healing process and to leave it all to him. This is when it became really clear how powerful prayer is and how God was implementing his plans and answering our prayer. Prayer is powerful and joint prayer is unstoppable. We started to realise more and more how Gods plan is written and that its not always to our timescale. Each day I am having more strength and energy to live my life. A phone call to get my latest round of results from my consultant on Wednesday resulted in his secretary actually saying “Miss Asbury, Let me read this letter again. it’s a miracle but your results are all clear! There is no sign of Addisons. “
This is only the beginning of a long recovery process, there are lots of hoops to jump through yet but I am buzzing with the prospect of using Gods amazing grace and blowing away that huge rain cloud of ill health that has hovered above me for the past 20 years. This last week I have been able to go out for an evening meal and have friends round in the evening, something I had not been able to do for years!”
